Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. December 14, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, IA for LaVonne Duwe, with interment at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona, IA. Leonard Funeral Home of Monona, IA, was in charge of arrangements.

LaVonne Duwe, 71, Monona, Iowa, died Monday, December 10, 2007, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI, following a courageous battle with cancer.

LaVonne was born on June 13, 1936, at Guttenberg, Iowa, to Fred and Henrietta (Schultz) Koehn. She graduated from Monona High School in 1954.

LaVonne’s first husband, Keith Land, died in May of 1957 while serving with the United States Army. In November of 1958, she married Kenneth Duwe. They were the proud parents of three children.

LaVonne worked for many places in Monona over the years. She worked for many years at Franklin Street Floral and the Monona Greenhouse until retirement. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, hiking, bowling, playing cards and most outdoor sports. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Duwe, McGregor; three children, Laurie (Frank) Henkels, Monona, Brenda Willis, Monona; Brian Duwe, Davenport; seven grandchildren; one sister, Fern (Keith) Mohs, Luana; one brother, Richard (Mary Ann) Koehn, Monona; one brother-in-law, Lamoine Wentz, Monona and several other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Keith; one sister, Bonnie Wentz; one brother, Gerald Koehn and a granddaughter, Jamie Lee Wheeler.
