Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. December 31, 2007 at St. Joseph's Church in Elkader, IA with interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery - Elkader, IA
Marcia Ann Corlett, 57, of Farmersburg, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader, following a long illness. She had been residing at Scenic Acres, St. Olaf, where she was recovering from a stroke.
She was born December 12, 1950 in Dubuque. Her elementary education was in St. Joseph’s Parochial School, Elkader and she graduated from Central Community High School, Elkader in 1969. After high school she attended Clarke College in Dubuque.
She was united in marriage to Richard Corlett on December 29, 1974, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elkader. Two children were born to this union.
Marcia operated the Fashion Shoppe in Elkader for a time. She loved people and enjoyed a great sense of humor. She was especially proud of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Corlett, Farmersburg; her two sons, Brad (Margaret) Corlett and David (Peggy) Corlett all of Farmersburg; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Robert Spencer and grandchildren, Ella and Wesley; her mother, Mariella (Olive) Miller, Elkader; her siblings, Becky (Corby) Gundacker, Elkader, Sid (Rhonda) Miller, Winter Springs, FL, Mike (Janet) Miller, Winston Salem, NC, Jane (Arlan) Quandahl, Monona and Jill (DeeJay) Smith, Wilton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Lorraine (Ponsar) Miller and her father John Miller.
