July 31, 1912

The funeral services for the late Mrs. John Quincy Adams who died in the hospital at Dubuque, Iowa were held in the Congretional Church in this city last Tuesday afternoon.

Rosie Hill was born April 6, 1845 in Chautauqua, New York. She was married to John Quincy Adams March 17, 1863 at Erie, Pa.; to this union were born four sons and one daughter.

One son Truman preceded her in death 11 years ago. Besides her aged husband there remains, Lensford, George, and Christie of McGregor and Mrs. R.C. Sturms of Davenport, Iowa. The family came to McGregor in 1882, thus another old settler has passed away.

*Transcriber note~~Thanks for taking in my G. Grandfather Lensford Ellis as a small baby and raising him as an Adams.
