Funeral services for Mrs. Carlton Collins were held Friday, May 31, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Joyce Rose Collins, daughter of Alvin and Selma (Kregel) Dettmann, was born May 23, 1928 in Monona Township, near Monona, Iowa. She passed away Tuesday, May 28, 1991 in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa.

She was baptized June 17, 1928 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona by the Rev. Albert Daugs and confirmed there March 29, 1942 by the Rev. Herman Siefkes. She received her education in the Evergreen Grove Country School and was graduated from the Luana Consolidated School.

On October 30, 1948 she was married to Carlton John Collins in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Monona. They had a daughter, Sherrie Jo. They have lived in Postville most of their married life.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Selma Dettmann.

Surviving are her husband, Carlton, a daughter, Sherrie, her father, Alvin Dettmann, a brother, Julius Dettman, and a sister, Jeanne Collins, all of Monona.

Joyce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.

Casket bearers were Garry Meyer, Dennis Dettmann, Stan Klotzbach, Don Klotzbach, Roger Radloff, Larry Radloff, Larry Reed, Darwin Fritz, and Lyle Kneeskern.
