John H. Krambeer
On December 18, 1885, John Henry Krambeer was born in Allamakee County, Iowa, to John Krambeer and Ida Harnack. He was baptized as an infant at Postville. After instructions in the Christian faith, he was confirmed at Luana.
He received his education in the Westgrove Community School. He worked for Wagner Manufacturing at Cedar Falls for some time, farmed in this area for a number of years and then worked for Hoth Haymower Co. of Luana.
At the family home in Clayton County on February 18, 1919, he was united in marriage with Gabriella Landt. To this union two sons were born: Harlan, who died in 1968, and James, who lives at Carroll, Iowa.
On January 8, 1978, he died at Postville, Iowa, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his son Harlan in 1968, and three sisters: Bertha Ulish, Matilda Bugenhagen and Emma Zieman.
Surviving him are his wife Gabriella; his son James; two grandsons, Lee and Todd; three great grandson, Rayne, Jared and Wade; one sister, Hilma Krambeer and other relatives and friends.
