DONALD E. KRAMBEER

Funeral services for Donald E. Krambeer, Marble Rock, Iowa were held Jan. 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Roseville, with military rites conducted by Stroud-Gates American Legion Post 387, Marble Rock.

Donald E. Krambeer, son of William and Gertrude R. (Ellis) Krambeer, was born Sept. 26, 1909 in Luana, Clayton County, Iowa. He died Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the Charles City hospital. He attended Luana schools. He moved to Marble Rock in 1934. He was employed as a truck driver in Marble Rock and Mason City.

He married Agatha Merfeld Oct. 7, 1939 in Roseville. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1942-45. He then opened the first Standard Station in Marble Rock and later served as an agent and salesman from 1946 until retiring in 1972. He served on the Marble Rock City Council from 1956-64 and was mayor from 1967-78.

Mr. Krambeer was on the Floyd County Memorial Hospital Board from 1965 to 1985 and served as chairman for many years. He also served on the Floyd County Crime Commission and the Judicial Magistrate Commission until 1986.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church were he was a past chairman of the Church council. He was a charter member of the Marble Rock Lions Club and a member of Stroud-Gates American Legion Post 387 of Marble Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Agatha, Marble Rock; one brother, Roy of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews. He was a cousin of Clifford Ellis and Mrs. Dale Meyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
