Robert Krambeer

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 8 at 11 a.m. for Robert Eggert Krambeer in the St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa with Rev. Ted Ager officiating. Robert died at his home in Monona, Monday, July 6, 1987

Robert was born May 8, 1919, in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, to parents Ben and Rosena Eggert Krambeer. He was baptized July 18, 1919 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville and confirmed April 9, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana.

November 3, 1962 he married Josie (Ferkin) Perkins at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed north of Luana until 1947, after which he worked for Wirkler Brothers in Monona, the Luana Creamery and the Loren Leas Construction Co. In 1965 he started his own construction business in Monona. He sold his business and retired in 1981 due to ill health.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and choir and an honorary member of the Luana Fire department.

Preceding him in death were his parents. Surviving is his wife, Josie; two step-sons, Jack Perkins, Fairview, Larry Perkins, Cedar Rapids; two step-daughters, Beverly Phillips, Des Moines and Jo Ann Harlow, Altoona; 12 step-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Hangartner and Donna Trumblee, Luana; 2 half-sisters, Mureen Berger and Mayme Ringis and one half-brother, Art Ferkin, all of California.

Burial was in the church cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of services.

Pallbearers were Keith Mohs, LaVern Schrader, Robert Handke, Norbert Dettman, LaMoine Wentz, Edgar Eichmann, Merle Miller, Robert Collins. Honorary pallbearers were Elvie Drahn and Vern Kuenster.
