ELDO JOHANNINGMEIER
Eldo Johanningmeier, 82, died Sept. 15, 2000, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader.
A funeral service was held Sept. 18 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona. Father Ron Friedell officiated. Burial took place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Monona.Casketbearers were David Lubbers, Joel Johanningmeier, Ben Mullarkey, Jon Johanningmeier, Craig Lubbers, Eric Johanningmeier and Pete Mullarkey.
Eldo was born June 21, 1918, the son of Wesley and Anna (Wiedenmann) Johanningmeier. He received his education at the Luana Consolidated School.
On Sept. 11, 1941, Eldo married Patricia McCullow at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona. He farmed in the Monona-McGregor area, retiring in 1975.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia, who died Sept. 14, 1991; a grandson, Jeff Lubbers; and a sister, Helene.
Survivors include two daughters Joan (Terry) Lubbers, Guttenberg, and Julie (Pat) Mullarkey, McGregor; two sons, James (Janice) Johanningmeier, and Joe (Deborah) Johanningmeier, all of McGregor; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Tapper, Davenport, Gladys (Dick) Gooch, Rock Island, IL, and Jean (Jack) Allum, Oregon, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona.
