Kelcy Camille Jones
Kelcy Camille Jones, 19, of Luana, Iowa, died Thursday, November 27, 2003, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon following a long illness.
Memorial services were held Sunday, November 30, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Waukon, with visitation prior to the service. Mark Frager delivered the services. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
Kelcy Jones was born to Rodney and Rita Jones in Waukon, December 22, 1983.
Kelcy was full of life and love for everyone. In fact, she had an abundance of smiles to distribute to all. Her love for life, family, and friends was evident in all she did. Her smiles would fill a room with energy and her laughter would fill your soul with a comfort that would drain the cares and worries from your mind.
What makes Kelcy even more remarkable is that she continued to be the same loving, happy person during her long illness. Kelcy would want all who showed the slightest bit of remorse, sadness, or pity for her to remember her disability was not going to stop her from being the loving, bright-eyed girl Jehovah meant for her to be. And remember the hope of a resurrection in a paradise earth.Kelcy enjoyed attending Bible meetings, learning about God's Kingdom, going to school/T.A.S.C. with her wonderful teachers and friends, and spending time with her family. Kelcy loved to be read to. When her niece and nephew would sit on her bed, she would smile so brightly it would light up the whole room while they were reading and singing to her.
Kelcy leaves her parents of rural Luana; sister Lydia (Lee) Guyer, also of Luana; sister Quinn Jones of Rochester, Minn.; brother Cameron Jones of rural Luana; and niece and nephew, Hailee and Seth Guyer. Grandparents are Emmett and Bernadine Jones of rural Lansing and Vernon and Lynn Boland of Harpers Ferry. Kelcy also leaves many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kelcy was preceded in death by her brother, Zachary Jones; uncles Dennis Jones, Brandon Boland, and George Hansen; and grandmother Hazel Hansen.
Honorary pallbearers were Lee Guyer, Clayton Cobb, Dan Cripe, Kirk Laufer, Logan Donahue, and Floyd Gettman.
