The following item is taken from the Waterloo Evening Courier of Friday, September 28th, giving an account of the death of Mrs. Fannie Egbert, who was well known to the people of Monona and vicinity.Mrs. Fannie Wingate Egbert , 62, passed away peacefully at 10:10 a.m. today at her home at 712 Riverside drive.
She was born August 30, 1861, at Ion, Allamakee county, Iowa, the daughter of J.A. and Mary Wingate. Deceased had lived in Waterloo the past 23 years. She was a member of the Grace M.E. church, Waterloo chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Temple Rebekah lodge; Riverside Drive club and Social Circle, joining the last named club 20 years ago.
Surviving her are the husband, H.C. Egbert, one son L.W., [Legrand] Waterloo; three daughters, Mary E., Waterloo; Mrs. C.D. Railey and Mrs. Melvin Morris, Los Angeles, Cal., [Fannie F and Carrie G] and a sister Mrs. W.C. Farley, Waterloo.
The body is at the Kistner mortuary pending funeral arrangements.
