Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Ortman were held Monday, Sept. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Elkport, with Rev. Larry Organbright officiating. Burial was in the Musfeldt Cemetery near Littleport, Ia.
Bertha Friederike Lindenberg Ortman was born near Garber February 25, 1883 and died Sept. 21, 1973 at Riverview Care Center, Guttenberg at the age of 90 years, six months, 27 days. She lived all her life in the Garber area.
She was baptized and confirmed in, and a life-long member of the Elkport Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She was married Dec. 12, 1906 to August Ortman, who preceded her in death in 1958.
Four daughters were born to the union. Twin daughters died in early childhood.
Survivors include two daughters Mrs. Leonard (Adale) Peterson of Spooner, Wis., and Mrs. Leroy (Carol) Wittman of Dubuque; six grandsons and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were five grandsons, Ronald Parks, Richard Parks, Robert Parks, Lee Wittman and John Wittman - and Julius Hauschen of Elkport.
