Eglseder, Francis J. 1937-2006

Francis J. Eglseder was born the son of Frank and Hilda (Schoulte) Eglseder, July 27, 1932, on the family farm near Garnavillo, Iowa. He died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Francis received his education at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Garnavillo, farmed with his family for many years, and custom combined for forty-five years.

Francis enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, horses, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his brother, Serenus Eglseder of Garnavillo; nephews, step nephews, and nieces: Andrew Eglseder, Daniel Portwine, Jeff Portwine, Steven Portwine, and Julia Coughlin; close friends: Bob Siegle, Judd and Joan Francis, and family; and Carl Hexson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Garnavillo, IA. Memorial service was at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garnavillo on December 29, 2006. Rev. Marvin Bries officiated. Internment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Garnavillo.
