Last Rites For Rena Thomas
Funeral services for Rena Pilkington Thomas, 56, were held Saturday morning, at 10:30 o'clock at St. Mary's church in McGregor with Father Karl Klein officiating at the funeral mass.
Burial was in St. Wencalus cemetery, rural Monona.
Rena Thomas passed away suddenly in Arlington, Va.
Mrs. Thomas was born as Rena Pilkington, July 13, 1915, in McGregor, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pilkington. She received her education in McGregor and was graduated from Junior college in Elkader.
In 1937 she was married to Gene Thomas of Des Moines. They lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., until she moved to Washington, D. C. in 1946. Until her retirement in 1968 due to ill health, she was on the staff of General Curtis LeMay as a junior executive assistant.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Surviving are a brother and two sisters: Clifford Pilkington of Marshalltown, Mrs. Mark Mock of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Wilbur Cahoon of Monona. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
