Mildred Albia Trappe
Mildred Albia (Wisner) Trappe died Monday, Jan. 6, 1991, at Prairie Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI, after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona. The Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services. Pallbearers were Dick, Larry, David, and Tom Trappe, Bill Frankenhoff, Larry Wisner, and Keith Sankort. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Riveland, Scott Rumph, Michael Puff, Neil Landt, Donald Bugenhagen, and Eddie Trappe.
Mildred Trappe was born Sept. 13, 1914, at Elberson, IA, to Joseph and Emma (Baresh) Wisner. She received her education in the country school in Tama and Benton County.
On Oct. 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Herbert Trappe at Elkader. The couple farmed at St. Olaf for five years, then farmed at Monona until 1976 when they moved to town. She was a member of the Garden City United Methodist
Church.Preceding her in death were her parents, and three brothers, George, Emil, and Fred Wisner.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert; two sisters, Mrs. Milvoy (Sylvia) Novak of Belle Plaine and Mrs. Albert (Emma) Sankot of Fairfax; and a host of other relatives and friends.
