Word has been received (d. July 18, 1964) of the death in Portland, Oregon of Mrs. Cora May (Edward W.) Knee, 88 yrs. The services were held at the Chapel by the Sea in Porland, and burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Cora Every Knee was born at Updegraf, Iowa on October 8, 1875 the daughter of Willis and Jennie "Stover" Every. Cora attended schools at Elkport, later going to Upper Iowa University at Fayette, Ia. She taught for a number of years in schools of Clayton County. On May 11, 1897 she was married to E. W. Knee at Colesburg, Ia.
Mrs. Knee is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Merle Riley of Arcadia, California; Miss. Virginia Knee of Los Angeles; Mrs. Juliet VanOrman of Ontario, Oregon, and Mrs. Nancy Jane Jones of Portland, Oregon. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Mrs. Adah Chase of Greeley, Ia. and Mrs. Dean (Edna)Mallory of Garber.
Mrs. Knee was preceded in death by her husband in 1952, a sister Mrs. Herman (Bertha) Fowler of Mandan, North Dakota, and a brother, Phillip Every of Guttenberg, Ia.
