North Iowa Times, August 1880
McGregor Public Library

Died at his home on Pleasant Ridge, August 7, 1880 Mosses Edward Dickens, aged 36 years.

The deceased was the son of Edward G. Dickens, the Pioneer farmer on the Ridge, and Ann Drusilla (Van Sickle) Dickens, and was born and brought up on the farm where death claimed him as it's own. He was an energetic industrious worker with excellent habits that endeared him to all who enjoyed his acquaintance. A good citizen, a kind neighbor, and an indulgent and respected husband and parent. Besides the parents, sisters and brothers, he leaves a wife, Evaline, and three children; Edith, Grace Ann, and Clayton Henry, with whom the community sympathises in this hour of their affliction. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Casebeer, of this city, and a large concourso of neighbors and friends followed the remains to the silent home in Pleasant Ridge cemetery
