Katherine Sophia Hansel, 61, died suddenly at her home in Brookfield, Mo. Friday, Feb. 1, 1980.
She was born June 19, 1918 at Graham, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Anna Lena Kauffman Grose. She married Stanley Hansel August 11, 1942 at Clayton Center, Iowa.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Stanley, November 17, 1978, one brother Joseph Grose, three sisters, Lavina Grose, Margaret Hunt, and Amanda Hansel.

Services were held at Appleton-Vernon Funeral Home Tuesday morning Feb. 5, 1980 with officiating clergy, Rev. John Baker. Gerald Klaus, Soloist was accompanied on the organ by Karen Klaus.
Casket bearers were: Gene Hansel Jr., Larry Hansel, LeRoy Hansel, Rick Hansel, Robert Hansel, and Raymond Horstman.
Burial: Hansel Cemetery, Rural Garber, Iowa
