Henry Lubbers
Henry Lubbers was born Feb. 17, 1900, in the rural Luana area, to parents Enno and Marie Bugenhagen Lubbers. He died May 25, 1990, at the hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI.
He was baptized in the Lutheran faith as an infant and confirmed on Palm Sunday, 1914 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. He attended the Aulerich school in Clayton County. He farmed in the Farmersburg area until he retired in 1951 and moved into Farmersburg.
He married Tillie Klinkenberg on Nov. 17, 1920. Tillie died June 7, 1973. On Sept. 15, 1979 he married Phyllis Drahn Fette at the Little Brown Church in Nashus.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, 2 sisters, Louise Wegner and Erma Mittelstadt; and 3 brothers, William, Carl and Harry.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis, 4 stepchildren, LuVerne Krambeer, Verda Lamker, Marilyn Baade of Monona and Judy Walter of Luana; 13 step grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, May 28, 1990 at 11:00 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa with Harold O. Ward officiating. Florence Evans was organist.
Pallbearers were Randall Lamker, Steven Baade, Lindsay Krambeer, Lary Walter and Darrel Lamker. Burial was in the Farmersburg & Wagner Cemetery. Schult'z Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of arrangements.
