Jamie Lee Wheeler
Jamie Lee Wheeler, the daughter of Laurie Bechtel of Monona and David Wheeler of Decorah, was born Jan. 20, 1979 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She died on Thursday, Jan. 21, 1993 at University Hospital, Iowa City. She was 20.
She was baptized on Feb. 25, 1979 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona. She had been a resident of Hills and Dales in Dubuque for eight years. She attended the Helen Keller School and the Eisenhower School in Dubuque.
Survivors include her mother, Laurie, and Robert Bechtel of Monona; her father, David Wheeler, and Penny of Decorah; four sisters, Thea Bechtel, Jennifer Willis, Kimberly Bechtel and Jennifer King; one brother, Daniel Willis; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Duwe and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wheeler; great grandmother Henrietta Koehn, step grandparents, aunts uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 25, 1993 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona, the Rev. Terry Hudson officiating. Organist was Mrs. Florence Evans and soloist was LIsa Schroeder. Pallbearers were Brian Duwe, Everett Willis, Rodney Wheeler and Jeff Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Tague and Lee Cornish. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of services.
