Harvey L. Straus,55, drowned Wednesday in the Mississippi River north of Clayton. Services: 1:30 p.m. Sunday, St. John's Congregational Church. Burial: Mount Harmony Cemetery, rural Garber. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a son, Curtis and his wife, Brenda, and a daughter, Sherri and her husband, William Stockdale, all of Chesapeake, Va.; his mother, Muriel of Garber; a sister, Joann Johanningmeier of Garber; and three grandchildren, Jerry and Michelle Straus and Michael Stockdale.

Born Oct. 23, 1937, near Garber, he married Sharon Chettinger on July 13, 1957, in St. John's Congregational Church. He was a 33-year employee of John Deere Works in Dubuque.
