Louis Eberhardt

Funeral services for Louis Eberhardt, 82, were held at Peace United Church of Christ, Monday afternoon, April 10. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, at Clayton Centre. The Rev. A.F. Volle, pastor, officiated.

Eberhardt died Friday, April 7, at his farm home on the western border of Elkader.

A son of John and Minnie Lundt Eberhardt, he was born at Postville on November 4, 1889. He was baptized at Postville and confirmed at Peace Church here.

On September 14, 1915, he was united in marriage to Elta Kalke by the Rev. C.H. Franke in a ceremony at Peace United Church of Christ. To this union were born three daughters, and three sons. The couple observed their golden wedding seven years ago.

He is survived by his wife and five children, Lu Vern of Elkader, LeRoy of Elkader, and Floyd of St. Olaf, two daughters, Mrs. Haldon (Marie) Reimer of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Milton (Anna Mae) Kramer of Elkader, two brothers, Henry, Elkader, and Martin, Washington State, two sisters, Mrs. Herman Schlee, Elkport, and Mrs. Ida Bergman, Minneapolis, 26 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by a daughter, Mrs. Florence Fette, a brother, John, a sister, Mrs. Tillie Waterman, a grandson Loren Reimer, and by a great-granddaughter, Sandra Wiethorn.

Pallbearers were Jerry Eberhardt, Louis Eberhardt, Dennis Eberhardt, Milt Kramer, Clyde Kramer, Robert Kramer, Ronald Reimer, Dr. Kenneth Reimer, Douglas Reimer, Michael Reimer.
