Christine D. Hoth, 96, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Northbrook Manor
Care
Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday,
Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, by Pastor Ed Brady. Burial: East Side
Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy O'Malley of Cedar Rapids.

Christine Dorothy Hoth

Funeral services for Christine Dorothy Hoth, 96, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Elkader, were held Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Leonard Funeral Home. Elkader, with burial at East Side Cemetery, Elkader. Pastor Edward Brady officiated. Pallbearers were Harold Hoth, Keith Meyer, Jeff Meyer, Steve Sanders, Dan O'Malley and Bill Sadewasser.

She was born October 26, 1902, at Elkader, Iowa the daughter of Herman and Mary (Lindemann) Meyer. She was raised and educated in the area attending country school. She helped on the family farm as a young girl. On February 28, 1924, she was united in marriage to Emil R. Hoth. One daughter was born to this union. They farmed together near Clayton Center until movng into Elkader in 1954. She was a lifetime member of Peace United Church of Christ and was active with the Women's Fellowship and Mary Circle. She enjoyed working outside in her yard, garden and with flowers. She died Tuesday March 2, 1999, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, where she has resided for the past seven years.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy (Patrick) O'Malley, Cedar Rapids, three grandchildren, Kate Sanders, Marion, Britt O'Malley, Seattle, Washington, and Daniel O'Malley, Blaine, Minnesota, two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Emil on May 23, 1955, her parents, two sisters, and five brothers.
