Emil Hoth Dies Suddenly Monday
Funeral services are being held Thursday afternoon, May 26, for Emil R. Hoth, 57, who died suddenly at his home in Elkader on May 23. Services are being conducted at 1 o'clock from the home and the Peace E. and R. church at 1:30. Burial is to be made in the East Side Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Steiger is officiating.
Hoth, a retired farmer, was born in Broadman Township on February 21, 1898, a son of John and Louise Meyer Hoth. He was married to Christine Meyer. The couple farmed north of here until recently when they retired to their home in Elkader.
Besides his wife, Hoth is survived by a daughter, Dorothy, of Cedar Rapids, his mother, three brothers, Edwin, of Elkader, Elmer of Farmersburg, and Willis of St. Olaf, and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Glawe, Hilma Hoth, and Mrs. Albert Breitsprecker of Elkader, and Mrs. Henry Radloff of Postville.
