Jim Bob Bruess

Jim Bob Bruess, age 35, of Little Turkey, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, September 23, 2006, at the Assumption Parish - Little Turkey with Rev. David Beckman and Rev. John Moser concelebrating.

Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Little Turkey, with Jason Kuehner, Keith Busta, Dave Njus, Craig Kurtenbach, Tom Bouska, and Dan Trewin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Bruess, Chuck Bruess, Jamie Jirak, Lowell Vsetecka, Dennis Bruess, Rudy Koester, and Nicole Koester. Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Lawler was in charge of arrangements. .

Survivors include two brothers; Gary and Steve Bruess of Waucoma; two sisters; Carla (John) Rausch of Waucoma and Lori (Jim) Koester of West Union; one niece, Nicole Koester of West Union; one nephew, Rudy Koester of West Union; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, John and Caroline Bruess; and maternal grandparents, Joe and Rose Heying.
