STATE NEWS

A robbery, attended with an incidental thing of the supernatural, occurred at Garnavillo, last Saturday night. Mr. M. Walleser, of that place, attended the German Turnfest. About 12 o’clock at night, Mrs. W. had a premonition of something having gone wrong about the house, and induced Mr. W. to accompany her home, and upon arriving there they found someone had been in the house, and upon going to the safe found it had been broken open and rifled of its entire contents, consisting of over $8,000 in notes and $120 in greenbacks. No trace of the thieves has been attained, but the notes of all but two of them were found the following morning near Tangemann’s scattered over the prairie. Payment has been stopped on the two notes, so that Mr. W. is minus only the $120 and a ruined safe.
