Miss Iva Dean Hoth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Hoth of St. Olaf, was united in marriage Monday, with Burnell Wilker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wilker of Farmersburg. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated in the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader. Miss Annabelle Wilker, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Geneva Marmann, friend of the couple, and Miss Marlene Hoth, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. Leon Hoth, brother of the bride, was the best man, and groomsmen were Vernon Hoth, cousin of the bride and John Mueller, friend of the couple. Ushers were Scylvan Bahls, cousin of the bride, and Westy Lenth Jr., cousin of the groom.
After the ceremony a wedding reception was held in the church parlors for 200 guests. Mrs. Elmer Kliefoth, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Clifford Wilker, sister-in-law of the groom, cut the cake. Mrs. Karl Wilker and Mrs. Elden Wilker, sisters-in-law of the groom, poured. Mrs. Harold Bahls, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Table waitresses were Donna Staade, Ila Mae Hoth, JoAnn Bahls, Charlene Bahls, cousins of the bride, and Connie Wilker, cousin of the groom.
Mrs. Wilker graduated from the Paris academy of beauty culture of Cedar Rapids and operates her own beauty shop in Elkader. Mr. Wilker graduated from Farmersburg high school, and then entered the Marines for two years. He is now employed at Wolf's Milling Service in Elkader. The new couple will make their home in Elkader.
