Engelken - Haas marriage - 1953

GARNAVILLO: Oct. 17th, Aletha Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Haas, became the bride of Edwin Engelken of Dyersville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. C. Ickel in St. Joseph's church. Miss Imelda Haas, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. Julien Engelken, brother of the groom served as best man. LaVern Haas, brother of the bride, and Elmer Engelken, brother of the groom, were ushers.

The bride is a graduate of St. Joseph's and the Garnavillo consolidated schools and the Dubuque Beauty Academy. For the past three years she has been employed at the Di Ann Beauty Salon in Dubuque. The groom is a veteran of two years' service in the Army.

After their wedding trip they will live on a farm near Bankston.
