Nuehring - Martins marriage - 1953

At St. John's Lutheran church in Luana, Oct. 18, occurred the marriage of Miss Darlene Martins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leska Martins of Luana, and Eldred Nuehring of Monona, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nuehring of Postville. The Rev. L. W. Reuther, pastor, officiated. Miss Della Martins served her sister as maid of honor, and Miss Mary Jane Martins, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. Alden Nuehring of Postville served his brother as best man, and groomsman was Donald Martins, brother of the bride. Ushers were Elliot Nuehring of Elkader, brother of the groom, and Delos Martins, brother of the bride.

The bride has attended Luther college and is teaching in the rural school of Mendon township. Mr. Nuehring is employed at the Fred Miene Implement store at Monona.

The couple will make their home in Luana.
