MONONA: St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona was the setting Saturday morning, Sept. 21, for the wedding of Miss Shirley Steiert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Steiert of Monona, and John Edward Mrochek, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Mrochek of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The Rev. G. V. Steiert of Calmar, uncle of the bride, officiated. Miss Mary Rosalie McDonald of Monona, cousin of the bride was a bridesmaid, and Lynwood Steiert of San Francisco, Calif. brother of the bride, and Gerald Mrochek brother of the groom, of Wisconsin Rapids, were groomsmen.
A reception for approximately 200 guests was held at the home of the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Steiert.
The bride is a graduate of St. Patrick's Parochial school, of the Monona-Farmersburg Community schools, and of St. Mary's school of nursing in Madison, Wis. The groom graduated from the Wisconsin Rapids high school and Central State college at Stevens Point, Wis., where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
The new couple left on a wedding trip to Colorado, after which they will be at home in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. after Oct. 01, where Mr. Mrochek is an industrial chemist.
