Downey - Walz marriage - 1943

Miss Georgia Walz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Walz of Elkader, was married to Woodrow W. Downey, son of Mrs. Agnes Downey of Dubuque, at St. Joseph's church in Elkader, Thursday, Oct. 21. The Right Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken officiated.

Mrs. Downey graduated from St. Joseph's high school in Elkader and Saint Teresa's College at Winona, Minn. Mr. Downey received his education in the Garnavillo school.

The new couple will make their home on the Oscar Auer farm south of Garnavillo.
