Fliehler - Westendorf marriage - 1943

FLIEHLER, WESTENDORF, LEONARD

Miss Marion Westendorf, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Westendorf of Strawberry Point, and Corporal Almon _. Fliehler, the son of Mrs. Cassie Fliehler of Modesto, Calif., were united in marriage, June 15, at the Emanuel Lutheran church, the Rev. L. A. Stumme officiating. Attendants were Mrs. M__ton Leonard of Monticello, sister of the bride, and Raymond Fliehler of Edgewood, brother of the groom.

Both bride and groom are graduates of the Strawberry Point high school. Mr. Fliehler enlisted in the C. W. S. of the U.S. armed forces in 1942, and, following training at Fort Lewis, Wash., he has been on duty in the North Pacific area. He recently returned to the States and has just completed a three-weeks' course in Chemical Warfare at the Edgewood Arsenal, Md. Following a fifteen day furlough, he will return to overseas duty.
