The Norway Lutheran Church was the scene Sunday of the wedding of Miss Billie Herrick, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Herrick, and Walter John Rugland, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rugland. Dr. S. J. Strandjord officiated. The bride's father sang "I Love You Truly, accompanied by Mrs. H. H. Douglass, an aunt of the bride." The brides attendants were Miss Elizabeth Rugland, sister of the groom, and Mrs. E. G. Champeny and Mrs. F. J. Kirchmeyer, sisters of the bride. Ervin Rugland served his brother as best man. Bill Kirchmeyer, the bride's nephew, acted as ringbearer. The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Carney, was present for the ceremony. At the close of the ceremony Mr. Herrick sang "A Wedding Prayer," Mrs. Fred Rugland, an aunt of the groom, provided the nuptial music.
Following the ceremony a reception for 300 guests was held at the St. Olaf chapel parlors. Presiding at the table were: Mrs. Orabelle Carney, Mrs. Perry Benson, Mrs. T. L. Herrick and Mrs. Ray Leete. Mrs. Vern Rugland and Mrs. Mina Orvis served the wedding cake. Mrs. H. H. Douglass acted as hostess. All were aunts of the bridal couple.
Mrs. Rugland is a member of the Elkader high school faculty. Mr. Rugland, a veteran of four years' service, is engaged in farming.
