Downing - Siebrecht marriage - 1940

GARNAVILLO: Alice Siebrecht, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Siebrecht, became the bride of Harold Downing, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Downing of McGregor, Wednesday. The ceremony was performed at St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. A. Meyer officiating. The bride's attendants were her sister Naomi, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Valmah Siebrecht and the groom's sister Helen. The groom's attendant was Donald Speck. Little David Speck was the ring bearer and Sharon and Valene Siebrecht were flower girls. Ushers were Valmah Siebrecht and Lorraine Horstman. The new couple left for California where they will make their home. Mrs. Downing is a graduate of the Garnavillo high school, she attended the State Teachers college at Cedar Falls and was a rural school teacher. Her husband graduated from the McGregor high school and has been employed there.
