VOLGA CITY: The marriage of Miss Ethel Oldfather, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oldfather, living west of town, and John Huebsch, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Huebsch, Sr., of Strawberry Point, took place Thursday, June 20, in the Oldfather country home. The Rev. E. J. Starr, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated. The attendants were the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rahmiller. The bride is a graduate of the Volga City high school and also attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette. For the past few years she has taught in various rural schools in Clayton county. The groom after completing his education has been engaged in farming. The bridal couples wedding date marked the 29th wedding anniversary of the bride's parents, the 4th wedding anniversary of her attendants, the 89th birthday of her grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Wilbur, and also the 29th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Gleim of Arlington, close friends of the family and who were guests at the reception.
