Skibbe - Olson marriage - 1939

Miss Esther Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Olson of this place, was united in marriage with Bernard Skibbe, son of Henry Skibbe of Strawberry Point and Mrs. Kate Sherf of Guttenberg, July 03, at the Lutheran parsonage, with the Rev. E. L. Stuempfig officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Scheffert of Elgin were the attendants. The bride was a graduate of the Elkader high school with the class of '35, and the groom graduated from the Strawberry Point high school with the class of '33. He has been enlisted in the Navy since 1937 and at present is doing duty on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Ranger. They will make their home at Norfolk, Va.
