Burgin - Knight marriage - 1938

STRAWBERRY POINT: Miss Vera Knight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Knight, of Strawberry Point, and Irving Burgin of Long Beach, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Burgin of Strawberry Point, were united in marriage Friday at the home of the bride's parents, east of town. The Rev. Carrie V. Lucas, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated. The attendants were Mrs. Homer Schenk and Alfred Osterman. The bride has taught the rural schools and entered the Iowa City hospital, taking a nurse's course. The couple left for Long Beach, Calif., where the groom is a carpenter, and where they will make their future home.
