Burke - Pohle marriage - 1938

VOLGA: The marriage of Miss Mary Jane Pohle, daughter of Mr. Pohle and the late Mrs. Pohle of Bloomington, Wis., and Marlowe Burke, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burke, of Fredericksburg, took place Tuesday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic rectory. Rev. Dorrance T. Noonan, pastor, officiated. Following the ceremony, the bridal party motored to Arlington, where the bride's cousin, Mrs. Max Mintzlaff, served a wedding dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Burke are graduates of Upper Iowa University at Fayette, and both are engaged in the teaching profession.

The home will be made in Volga, where the groom is an instructor in high school, and also band instructor. Mrs. Burke will teach the fifth and sixth grades.
