Conley - Downey marriage - 1900

Feb. 27th, at the Catholic church at Garnavillo, Rev. Raedler officiating, occurred the marriage of Hon. Peter W. Conley, of Elkport, and Miss Esther Downey of Garnavillo. Mr. Conley is well known to our people as having been twice chosen to represent Clayton county in the lower house of the General Assembly, and where well known enjoys the confidence of his neighbors to a marked degree. The bride is a lady worthy of the gentleman she has won. The Hon. and Mrs. Conley departed for Des Moines to remain while the legislature is in session.
