The marriage of Miss Gwendolyn Burns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Burns, and Marsene Gamm, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gamm, took place Thursday, Dec. 15, 1949, in St. John's Lutherean church at Arlington. The Rev. Wilke, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

Miss Shirley White was bridesmaid and Donald Gamm, brother of the groom, was best man.

The bride was graduated from the Volga high school in May, 1949, and attended Gates business college in Waterloo during the summer. The past several months she has been employed at the West Union hospital. The bridegroom is also a local high school graduate and served in the U.S. Navy for a period of time. Since his return, he has farmed and been a turkey grower in this vicinity.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the John Burrack home in Arlington, the bridegroom's grandfather. Those attending, not named above, were: Theodore Gamm; Lee, Roland, Kenneth and Judy Burns, all of Volga; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gamm, Arlington.

On their return from a wedding trip, the couple will reside on the bridegroom's father's farm in Highland township. The John Gamms plan to move to Arlington in the near future.
