A pretty wedding took place Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Sacred Heart church when Miss Patricia Bennington became the bride of James Shea. The single ring ceremony was read at 9:30 a.m., followed by nuptial mass, celebrated by the Rev. D. T. Noonan, pastor.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bennington. She was attended by her sister, Rita Bennington, as bridesmaid. Leon McTaggart was best man and Wenceslaus Shea was groomsman. Daniel Shea and John Bennington were ushers. Acolytes at the mass were Gregory Schaefers and Patrick Minihan.
Following the ceremony and nuptial mass, the bridal party and guests were served a wedding breakfast at the Legion hall. The couple left later in the day on a wedding trip and on their return will live on the bridegroom's father's farm in highland township, north of Volga.
Among the relatives at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bennington, Lima; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bennington, Fayette; Mr. and Mrs. John Neylan and daughter, and Mrs. James Neylan, Elkader.
