The Giard Methodist church was the scene of a pretty summer wedding Sunday afternoon, June 19, when Miss Georgene Rae Ferguson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ferguson of McGregor, became the bride of Robert Dillman, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Dillman of Prairie du Chien. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Gordon Allen.
Miss Marion Husted of Prairie du Chien served as maid of honor and Miss Jean Meggers of McGregor was bridesmaid. The bridegroom was attended by Richard Mattie of LaCrosse, Wis., and Duane Miller of McGregor. Ushers were Bruce Dillman, brother of the bridegroom, and Dean Werger, cousin of the bride.
A reception for 150 guests was held immediately after the ceremony in the church parlors.
The bride is a graduate of Monona high school, attended Iowa State Teachers college, Cedar Falls, and taught in the Clayton county schools for the past two years. The bridegroom graduated from the Prairie du Chien high school, served two years in the navy, and attended LaCrosse college of commerce. The couple will live in Prairie du Chien, where the bridegroom is employed.
Gwen Werger of Luana and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dillman of Madison, Wis., were among out of town guests.
