Kirkjorden - Butikofer Vows At Candle-light Ceremony.
In a candle-light ceremony Wednesday evening, June 1, at the Norway Lutheran church, Ella Kirkjordan, daughter of Thore Kirkjordan of Farmersburg, became the bride of Lester Butikofer of Elgin. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord, St. Olaf, performed the double ring ceremony.
Miss Ragna Embretson served her sister as maid of honor. Mrs. Leo Olson, sister of the bridegroom, served as bridesmaid. The bridegroom's attendants were his cousin, Ben Butikofer, and Leo Olson, his brother-in-law. Ushers were Silas Butikofer and Ole Landsgaard.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was given in the church dining rooms. Hostesses were Mrs. Ole Embretson and Mrs. Arthur Knuth.
Relatives from a distance who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Loran Harris of Des Moines, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hinderman and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hinderman and family of Fairfax, Minn.
The couple will reside at the bridegroom's farm home near Elgin.
(Note: Both surname spellings of Kirkjordan/Kirkjorden appear in the article. Unknown if the named Miss Ragna Embretson should be Mrs. Ragna Embretson.)
