Connell - Zapf marriage - 1949

Miss Angeline Zapf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Zapf, and Martin Connell, son of Mrs. Catherine Connell of Elkader, were married at St. Joseph's church, Garnavillo, at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning, Feb. 28. The Rev. L. C. Ickels read the nuptial high mass.

Following the service a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party and guests at the Ahlers hotel in Guttenberg, and a reception was held at the Omar Zapf home in the afternoon.

The bride is a graduate of the Garnavillo high school and for the past number of years has been clerk at the Garnavillo postoffice. Her husband was educated in the Elkader school. He served in the U. S. Navy for three years and nine months and is now employed at the John Deere company in Waterloo where the new home will be made.
