The marriage of Miss Catherine L. Cassutt, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Cassutt of Elkader, and John F. Degenford, only son of Mr. Harry P. Degenford, also of Elkader, was solemnized at St. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock Thursday morning, April 21.
The Very Rev. B. H. Skahill officiated at the double ring service. Miss Dorothy Cassutt, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. The bridegroom was attended by Loren R. Foster of Rock Island, a classmate. Raymond Cassutt, brother of the bride, and Robert Turner served as ushers.
Immediately following the ceremony a wedding breakfast for the wedding party and 30 guests was served at the Franklin hotel at Strawberry Point. The couple left for a wedding trip to Rock Island and Chicago.
Mrs. Degenford is a graduate of St. Joseph's school and Elkader Junior College and for the past two years has been employed at the Schmidt pharmacy in Elkader. Her husband is a graduate of the Rock Island high school, Rock Island, Ill., and attended Elkader Junior College. He is now attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering at Milwaukee, Wis. The new home will be made at 1637 N. Prospect, Apartment 15, Milwaukee, Wis.
Out of town Guests who attended the Wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Downey, Mrs. Anna B. Zapf, all of Cresco, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. John Heins of Chatsworth, Ill.
