As stated in these columns last week the marriage of Miss Helen Schmidt and Leroy Dittmer occurred last Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at the Evangelical church. The pastor Rev. C. H. Franke officiating. Miss Christine Schmidt was maid of honor and Floyd Dittmer was the groom's attendant, while Dorothy Dohrer carried the wedding ring.
The bride was attired in a gown of white silk georgette trimmed with lace, a veil of tulle arranged simply and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Christine Schmidt, the maid of honor, was gowned in apple green silk crepe with hat to match and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and lilies of the valley.
The church was beautifully decorated with ferns, bridal wreath and iris. During the ceremony _______ ______ sang "Beloved It Is Morn" and "At (rest of sentence blurred). After the ceremony a three course dinner was served in the basement of the church.
The young couple are graduates of the Elkader High School, graduating with the class of 1919.
They returned Monday from their honeymoon trip to Chicago and other points and are at home to their many friends at the Mrs. M. Dittmer home.
