At 3:30 Wednesday, Dec. 26, in the Lutheran church, by Rev. Kumpf, occurred the marriage of Mrs. Beatrice Palas, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palas, and Lorenz Doerring, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Doerring. The ring service was used, Master Harold Kumpf ring bearer. Miss Alma Landt played the wedding march by Lohengrin. They were attended by Miss Hatty Landt, close friend of the bride, and John Doerring, brother of the groom. Just before the ceremony a quartet consisting of Rev. Kumpf, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schultz, and Mrs. Arthur Berg, sang a selection. Following the ceremony Miss Elsie Bredow, of Waverly, sang "O, Perfect Love.", accompanied by Miss Dena Bredow, of Waverly, as violinist, and Miss Jeanette Schultz, as organist. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white satin faced crepe, a queen Elizabeth Veil, and carried shower bouquet of Bride's Roses. The maid of honor wore a white organdie dress with hat to match. A three course dinner was served in the home of the bride's parents, to about 85 guests. After Feb.1, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Doerring will be at home on the groom's farm just west of town. Luana friends wish them much joy.
