Married in Elkader on Tuesday, October 16, 1866, by the Hon. A. C. Rogers, County Judge, Realto E. Price to Miss Sarah Filetta Stewart, both of Elkader.
Our old friend Price is no more – a bachelor. Don’t it seem odd to you, young chaps, who are reading this, that in thinking of Realto hereafter, you will be compelled to associate him in your mind with “curtain lectures,” and “squalling babies”.
But let us inform you, Mr. Single-man that Realto knew a thing or two, and knowing it he had the boldness to execute it, and in consequence he has attained to the sublamest period of life – the married state. Talk of your “virtuous couches,” and etcetera’s, what are they compared to the bliss of matrimony? A fond loving wife greeting you on your return from your labors, and perhaps, “a fat, cunning little urchin, full of love and admiration for you, its king, god, and all, climbing up your knee to give you a good, hearty embrace!” If that ain’t pleasure there isn’t any in this world. And Price knew it. AH! The rascal had taken notes, and he’s “gone and done it.”
And since he has, we give him and his estimable young wife a happy welcome into the married circle of the community, and in our welcome let us express the hope that their future life may be one of unalloyed pleasure and happiness.
