Married in Elkader on Tuesday, October 16, 1866, by the Hon. A. C. Rogers, County Judge,
Mr. Orrin P. Stewart to Miss Mary M. Young, both of Elkader. But here is another marriage we must speak of: That of O.P. Stewart to Miss M. M. Young.
Don’t that surprise you? It was on the same day of the above, and the happiest circle of friends that we have seen together for years, were assembled at the residence of E. W. Stewart, to see the marriage ceremony recorded above, when lo! And behold the visitors were duly presented to the “new daughter” of Mrs. Laura Stewart, Miss Mary M. Young who had that afternoon, been married to O. P. Stewart. The congratulations of course were hearty and the fun afterwards immeasurable. To Orrin and the estimable partner he has chosen for a wife, we tender our congratulations, hoping that notwithstanding the name of Stewart will prevail, both will remain young for many a year to come. May their life too, be one of continued unbroken felicity.
