Vullgraf Golden Wedding, 1943

Monona, Ia. - Mr. and Mrs. William Vullgraf will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their home here Saturday. Open house will be held in the afternoon, followed by a family dinner in the evening.

Mr. Vullgraf was born on a farm in Clayton County on March 26, 1864, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vullgraf. Mrs. Vullgraf, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Drahn, was born July 1, 1869 in the same vicinity.

They were married at the home of the bride's parents March 6, 1893 and they made their home on a farm near Farmersburg until 1911 when they retired to Monona. Mr. Vullgraf has been an invalid for 20 years.

The celebrants are the parents of two children, William at home and Mrs. Henry Ellenbolt of Farmersburg. They also have two grandchildren.

They are members of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
