Dear Gayle Snow,
By 1880, am sure Catherine Ann, wife of Geo. SIMONS, had died in Wells, Hamilton Co., NY. Find no death date - surmise ca. 1877. I suspect old George came to IOWA directly from N.Y.S. At times, old George lived with various children in Albany, NY. By 1884, George's old house in Wells, NY was going to ruin & Geo. was living in Albany, NY (with one child) but visited in Wells, NY.

Geo. & Catherine Ann SIMONS had at least 12 children. One descendant family says at least 15! Many descendants from those SIMONS children!!!

Almost positive that George's wife Catherine Ann was b. BRADT & is my GR.-gr.-aunt. Geo. & Catherine's children are my paternal Grandma's 1st cousins. Cousin descendants are more distant to me. Have found two living N.Y.S. families.
